Grantee at a Glance- Beach Health Clinic

Beach Health Clinic is a free clinic that serves low income uninsured residents of  Virginia Beach.  They have been a grantee since 2000.  In just the past three grant cycles, 966 Beach Clinic patients have received mammograms as a result of Komen grants.   This year’s grant provides funding for up to 350 mammograms.  They utilizes the Sentara Mobile Mammography Unit which comes to the clinic once a month.   Additionally, to ensure that their patients can get to the clinic for their mammography appointments, they offer them bus tickets.  They also have bus tickets for those who need additional diagnostics and/or treatment.

Volunteer Thank You

WOW! Can you believe Race 2011 is over!  The race was a huge success and all because you volunteered to be there and help.  Your dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work is the foundation for the Tidewater affiliate and key to finding a cure for breast cancer.  I thank all of you who were able to come out on Friday for the first every EXPO and the 2011 Race Day.

The affiliate has already started working on Race 2012.  If you would like to help plan the race, just let me know and I will put you on the mailing list to keep you updated on our progress.  You will be invited to the planning meetings.

Another part of the race is the post-race feedback.  I would ask that if you have comments about the EXPO and/Race Day, please let let me know.  All concerns will be addressed.  Thank you so much for supporting the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 2011.
