Komen Tidewater Affiliate

The Tidewater Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure was established in 1999 as an all volunteer organization serving the needs of the Hampton Roads community.

With the support of our signature event, the Komen Tidewater Affiliate Race for the Cure®, the Affiliate has raised nearly $2 million through fiscal year end March 31, 2007.

The generosity of spirit of our corporate sponsors and community partners enables the Affiliate to organize the Race for the Cure® and breast cancer awareness events and fundraisers throughout the year.

In addition, each year the Affiliate contributes 25% of the net proceeds from our fundraising activities to the Award and Research Grant Program of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to support the national search for a cure. These funds are allocated 100% to research. To date, the Affiliate has contributed over $332,000.
