Old School Legends
Basketball Tournament
Location: Oscar Smith High School, Chesapeake
Admission: $5
for kids age 5 to 12, $7 for adults
Take yourself back to high school when John Speller
hosts the Battle of the Districts for the Second Annual
Dr. Clarence V. Cuffee Basketball Tournament. Graduates
from two sets of high school classes 1976 to 1982 and
1983 to 1990 will be playing July 12th at Oscar
Smith High School in Chesapeake. Admission is just $5
for kids age 5 to 12 and $7 for adults. This promises to
be something completely different as we watch the former
boys of high school competing as men now. Do they still
have the moves? Can they still slam dunk? We'll find
out! Coaches for the teams will include Hall of Fame
Coach Robert Vaughn; Hall of Fame Coach Charles Christian;
former coaches Dick Ponti, Jamie Turner, Bill Lassiter,
and John Sturdivant. Registration for teams begins February

Bat for the Cure
Game Time: 7:15 p.m.
Location: Norfolk Tides Park, Norfolk, VA
The Norfolk Tides Baseball Club brings, for the third year in a row, Bat for the Cure on July 26th at Norfolk Tides Park.
The Tide players will be wearing their special only-for-this-game pink jerseys in support of the fight to end breast cancer. The game starts at 7:15 p.m., but you won't want to miss it when a breast cancer survivor throws out the first pitch. As a perfect tie-in, Coca-Cola will be distributing pink tote bags to the first 2,000 women over age 18. When you purchase your $9.50 ticket from this website, or by calling the Tidewater Affiliate office at 490.7794, by July 25th, the Norfolk Tides will donate $4/ticket back to Komen. This ticket price is the same as at the box office so please encourage other Tides supporters to purchase their tickets through the Komen Tidewater Affiliate.

Hope on the Horizon Luncheon
Location: Virginia Beach National Golf Club, 2500 Tournament Drive, Virginia Beach
Time: 3:00 p.m.
Tickets: $35 for the dinner and a small gift, or $70 for dinner and a special Longaberger tea basket
Amy Chase, an Independent Longaberger Branch Leader, will once again be hosting this special luncheon event. The luncheon promotes breast cancer awareness while letting participants enjoy the camraderie of other Longaberger Basket enthusiasts and breast cancer supporters. Breast cancer survivor, Virginia Beach Mayor Mayera Oberndorf, is all set to provide a positive and inspirational talk about the importance of early detection.
Amy keeps the day lighthearted and optimistic for participants who will enjoy a fun luncheon.

Sold out the past two years, this year's event will be held at Kincaid's Fish, Chop and Steak House at the MacArthur Mall in Norfolk to ensure there's room for everyone!!!
This event will feature live music, silent auction, and pink balloon sales as well as 2 pink martinis (2 beers, 2 glasses of wine, or 2 sodas may be substituted). Heavy hors' doeurves and a fun atmosphere bring folks back year after year.
Tickets will be available the end of July.

Cost: $15 per haircut for everyone
Professional hair stylists will be donating their time and talent for the Second Annual Cut for the Cure. All proceeds will be donated to the Komen Tidewater Affiliate.
If you’ve ever treated yourself to a Rudy and Kelly haircut, you’ll know this is a fabulous deal for the whole family. These stylists have seen many breast cancer survivors as well as their family and friends and know this is a fun and different way to raise money for the cure. If you are interested in donating long hair for Locks-For-Love, please contact the salon directly.
Reservations are not required, and it is anticipated that there will be 10 chairs available to accommodate everyone.
