Major step in personalized treatment — Thanks to a 2007 research grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, scientists identified a set of 50 genes that oncologists can potentially use to tailor individualized treatments for all breast cancer patients.
Get Involved
Help wanted to end breast cancer forever!
In the next 25 years approximately 10 million people will be diagnosed with breast cancer. These are our mothers, sisters and friends and will impact our community. Join us in the fight by becoming involved as a volunteer, activist or runner. So, how will you get involved?
Opportunities include:
Education Committee
Help the Affiliate with outreach including Speakers Bureau, Pink Sunday, Youth Initiative, I AM THE CURE, Health Fairs, and Circle of Promise
Volunteer Committee
Recruitment, Placing and Training Volunteers for Affiliate projects and events
Marketing and Public Relations
Identify and implement ways to promote the Affiliate and the message of good breast health to the Media and Community including Website, Newsletter, Communications, Development
Grants and Advocacy
Assist with grant writing and reviewing grants as well as work with legislators to support legislation that affects breast cancer issues.
Fundraising
Help to raise funds to support breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and programs. Including Race for the Cure, National Partnerships, Special Events, Third Party Events and more!
Survivor
Work with Survivors to develop outreach, inclusion, recognition and other programs geared to Survivor needs.
Administrative
Provide Administrative help to support the Komen office.
