March 17-19 - Christine Garvey Memorial Soccer Tournament, Newport News
Each year sees more and more students, staff and supporters willingly give up their Spring Break to play soccer in support of Komen.  Over ten years more than $100,000 has been raised.  This 3-day tournament is full of action, energy and enthusiasm.  For a complete list of participating schools, game schedules and more please visit www.homestead.com/goforthegoal

 March 27 (Saturday) - Arena Racing, Newport News
The thrill of auto racing comes to the Hampton Coliseum when Arena Racing shows their support for Komen with some very creative pink touches.  What surprises are they working on?  Plans are still in the works but we can tell you this - it will be more pink than any of these drivers have seen there before!  Bring the family, join your co-workers, invite a date, or just enjoy a night with friends at this fun action-packed event.  Free parking at the Coliseum.  Tickets will be available online beginning Feb 8.   Adults (ages 13+) are $12.  When tickets are purchased through Komen a $4/ticket donation will be made back to Komen in support of local breast health services.  Kids (ages 12 and under) are $7.  The first 40 breast cancer survivors (or those currently in treatment for breast cancer) will receive a complimentary free ticket.  To reserve your tickets call 757-490-7794 or click http://tidewater.info-komen.org/arenaracing.  For more information about Arena Racing USA visit www.arenaracingusa.com.


March 28 (Sunday) - The Pink Veil Bridal Event, Norfolk
This event is all about being a woman and getting ready for your big day!  Meet fabulous cosmetic artists, skin care consultants, and physical fitness gurus that will help you get in shape for your wedding and honeymoon.  There will be fashions for the wedding party and your mom.  Enjoy great shower ideas and you very own Pink Veil.  Receive a fabulous breast cancer awareness gift bag filled with prizes, discounts and ideas for a fabulous pink event.  Brides who wear pink to the event are FREE, all other guests are $5.  Event is open to the public.  You could win gift certificates, a wedding cake or more.    Special Groom's Event also included.    Event will be 11am - 3pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Downtown Norfolk.  For more information visit www.weddingweek2010.info.

April 8 (Thursday) - Guadalajara Restarants, all in Virginia Beach
Do you enjoy authentic Mexican food served in a festive setting?  All the Guadalajara restaurants in Virginia Beach are teaming together to give you the chance to enjoy a dinner out while supporting Komen.  Just mention Komen when you are seated and a 10% donation of your total will be donated to Komen.  Locations include Town Center, 4611 Columbus Street; 2272 W. April 9 (Friday) - Maqic Entertainment Runway Show, Hampton

April 13 (Tuesday) - Tallwood High School Dance Competition, Virginia Beach
Enjoy the multitude of talent when Tallwood students compete in a dance competition.  You may be surprised who participates and has the smooth moves.  Located at Tallwood High School, 1668 Kempsville Rd. from 6-8pm, tickets are just $2 in advance and $3 at the door and can be purchased by calling 648-5700.  Proceeds will benefit Komen Tidewater.  Please note that all participants must also pay $2/person.

May 7-9 (Fri-Sun) Ferguson Dream Kitchen Tour, Peninsula AND Southside
Mention Ferguson to builders and homeowners around Hampton Roads and people think quality, class, and creative.  Now is your chance to see some of the finest Ferguson furnished kitchens inside private homes from Williamsburg to Virginia Beach.   Get ideas for your home or just enjoy the chance to see the wide variety of decorating ideas, styles and options.  Tickets will be available on the Komen website beginning March 15th.  Komen is partnering with the Junior League of Hampton Roads.  For more information please visit their website at www.JLHR.org.  

May 27 (Thursday) - Pink Martini Night - Peninsula, Newport News
Returning again to the lovely James River Country Club, the signature Komen event brings an evening of lively music, fun silent auction and balloon items, as well as delicious heavy hors d'ouerves to accompany the Pink Martinis.   Save the date now.  Tickets will be available in March.

June 19 (Saturday) - Old Dudes Ride for the Cure, Newport News
The Old Dudes Motorcycle Club host the 9th annual Ride for the Cure with a poker run beginning at the Hampton Roads Harley Davidson in Yorktown.  This yearly event is a memorable and fun ride that covers areas on the Peninsula and ends at Hoss's Deli in Newport News.  Enjoy good food, live entertainment and a silent auction at Hoss's.   Whether this is your first organized ride or you've enjoyed many there is still something energizing about the sound of all those bikes firing up and pulling out together in support of the fight to end breast cancer.  Registration is 9:30 - 11am, first bike out is at 11am and last card drawn will be at 3pm.    For more information about the Old Dudes visit www.OldDudesMC.com

 


Team MagnoliasOctober 16 (Saturday) - Race for the Cure, Virginia Beach
We hope you can join us for our largest fundraising event of the year when the Race for the Cure returns to the Virginia Beach Boardwalk for a 5K competitive and recreational run.  If running does not appeal to you that's OK because we have a 5K or 1 mile walk.   Families can participate since our Kids for the Cure is open for kids age 3-11 with a shirt designed especially for them by a local child.  Teams are 10 or more people but they can participate in different events.  This is a fun way to get your friends, family, co-workers, church or club members together in support of finding the cures and support local breast health services that are funded by Komen grants.   Registration will be open early March.


Pink Ribbon Mermaid at Mermaids & Martinis Night September 2 (Thursday) - Pink Martini Night, Norfolk
Back for a 4th year in Norfolk is one of our most popular events.  Perfect for after work or a casual date, the evening features live entertainment, silent auction, balloon purchase, heavy hors d'ouerves and signature pink martinis.  Confirmation of location and details are pending so stay tuned but save the date!

 


September 15 (Wednesday) - Survivor Luncheon, Virginia Beach
Breast cancer survivors include those recently diagnosed, in treatment or having completed treatment.  The luncheon is free to breast cancer survivors and include speakers, lunch, plus pink ribbon merchandise will be available.  Details will be posted when speakers and location are confirmed.  Sign ups will be available starting in July.

November 7 (Sunday) - Victorian Tea, Chesapeake
If you enjoy an afternoon of tea, sandwiches, silent auction and hope you'll want to be at the Victorian Tea at the Khedive Temple in Virginia Beach.  Speakers, entertainment and more make this a relaxed, elegant and fun afternoon.  Ticket and event information will be posted when available.

January 15, 2011 (Saturday) - Norfolk Admirals Pink in the Rink
Save the date for this popular yearly event.  The game this year saw Norfolk Admirals and the Adironack Phantoms wrapping part of their hockey sticks with pink tape in support of the day.  Icon Limousines bravely and generously donated their pink stretch limo to deliver breast cancer survivor, Cassi Fritzius, for the ceremonial puck dropping.  A pink stretch limo driving onto pink ice really is memorable.  Stay tuned for photos.  Tickets and updated information for this event will be available in the fall.
