History
The Tidewater Affiliate of Susan G. Komen
for the Cure supports breast
cancer research and a variety of educational
and scientific programs. Since its inception
in 1999, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has raised more
than $2.7 million in the fight against
breast cancer.
The generosity of spirit
of our corporate sponsors and community partners
enables the Komen Tidewater Affiliate to organize the annual Race
for the Cure® and breast
cancer awareness events and fundraisers throughout
the year.
In
addition, each year the Affiliate
contributes 25% of the
net proceeds from our fundraising
activities to the Susan G. Komen
for the Cure Award and Research Grant Program to support
the national search for a cure. These funds are allocated
100% to research. To date, the Affiliate
has contributed over $467,000. |
