Race for the Cure Event Activities

 

 

Pre-Race Expo at Virginia Beach Convention Center

 

1:00-8:00pm- Packet Pick-up and Sponsor Expo. Teams will also get the opportunity to take their team photos here, so plan accordingly.If you have not registered for race, you will be able to do so here as well.

Race Day Events

 

 

7:00am- Registration Tent and Survivor Tent Open  (note: participants who are pre-registered MUST pick up their packets at the Pre-Race Expo at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on October 14, 2011).
7:00am-8:15am- Team Photos on beach behind King Neptune
7:50 am - Color Guard and National Anthem kick off Opening Ceremonies
7:55am - Opening Ceremonies and Survivor parade
8:05am-Survivor Photo
8:10am- Jazzercise Warm-up
8:15am- Survivor Photo
8:30 am –  5K Race – Wheelchair start
8:35 am –  5K Race- Recreational run/walk
9:00am- Kids for the CUre events begin at 24th St. Park
9:25 am – 1 Mile Family Fun Walk
9:30am-10:15am- Team Photos on the beach behind King Neptune
10:00 am – Kids for the Cure 50 Yard Dash (24th St. Park) and First ever Survivor Wedding (31st St. Park)
10:15 am - Circle of Promise Ceremony
10:30 am – Awards Ceremony
10:45 am - 2:00 pm - FREE Race After Party at Neptune's Park with live bands.  Refreshments available for purchase.

There are two separate stages for this year's Race, one at 31st Street and the other at 24th Street. The 31st Street Stage will have registration, the race sponsor village, and the survivor tent. The 24th Street Stage will have entertainment, the Kids for the Cure Activities such as the 50-yard Dash, and spectators are encouraged to cheer on their participants here.
