Who are you running for? — Join in the fight against breast cancer by running a full or half marathon through Marathon for the Cure™
Rally for the Cure — Golf, tennis, dinner events and so much more...
Major step in personalized treatment — Thanks to a 2007 research grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, scientists identified a set of 50 genes that oncologists can potentially use to tailor individualized treatments for all breast cancer patients.
More than twenty five years ago, Nancy G. Brinker promised her sister that she would do everything possible to put an end to breast cancer. Today, thanks to more than 100,000 survivors and volunteers/activists, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest, most progressive grassroots organization fighting breast cancer.
Volunteers play a vital role in the Susan G. Komen Tidewater Race for the Cure®. Their passion and commitment is what makes our Race successful. This disease has touched so many people, either through their own personal experience or that of a loved one. Will by join our passionate fight by volunteering on Race day?
Last year, individuals from all walks of life volunteered their time and talents before, during and after the Race to ensure its success. We need leaders, thinkers, movers and shakers, educators, communicators…all types of talented people. We look forward to having you join in the Race experience with us.
Thank you to the many volunteers that helped with last year’s RACE!
Next year's Race for the Cure will be held at the 31st Street Park in Virginia Beach on October 16, 2010. Preparations for next year's Race have already begun and we need your help! Please download and complete the Volunteer Form if you are interested in volunteering for next year's Race for the Cure. Parents must sign the form of those under age 18.
