Shape Policy
Susan G. Komen
for the Cure has
a long and rich history in public policy advocacy that
spans more than 25 years. In order to achieve our
mission of eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening
disease by advancing research, education, screening, and
treatment, Komen for the Cure believes
that scientific progress must be complemented by sound
public policy. In this regard, Komen
works
to influence public policymakers at the federal, state,
and local levels to increase public investment in quality
breast health and breast cancer care.
Join Komen
Champions for the Cure™ and help us educate
Congress, the President, and other policymakers about
breast cancer. United, we can make a difference in
the lives of those facing breast cancer and their loved
ones. This Komen
Champions for the Cure™ public policy project
was inspired by thousands of Komen volunteers across
the country who work in local communities and with
their state health departments. Komen recognizes that
policymakers play an important role in helping to eradicate
breast cancer as a life-threatening disease and is
committed to keeping them informed about the need to
increase funding for quality breast health and breast
cancer care.
Our volunteer leaders are uniting
with other Komen leaders nationwide
to educate our elected officials
about breast cancer and how their
decisions impact women's access to
vital breast cancer screening and
treatment programs. |
