is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to eradicating
breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing
research, education, screening, and treatment. Volunteers
support the structure of Komen for the Cure
and make programs happen. Komen credits its success to
the many outstanding volunteers who share their energy,
talents, and enthusiasm.

BMW Ultimate Drive®.
Help coordinate the Affiliate's involvement in this one-day
event with the local BMW dealerships.
Pink Tie Gala. Help the Affiliate
plan a formal dinner, dance, and silent auction fundraiser.
Pink Martini Night.
Plan this cocktail party and silent auction fundraiser.
Education. Help
the Affiliate plan ways to disseminate breast health information.
Survivors. Plan
and implement ways to support, celebrate, and involve breast
cancer survivors.
Volunteer. Recruit,
place, and train volunteers for various Affiliate events
and activities.
Communications.
Identify and implement ways to promote Komen Tidewater Race
and other special events.
Fundraising. Solicits
cash sponsorships and in kind donations of goods and services
for Affiliate events and activities.
Passionately Pink for the Cure™.
Help the Affiliate promote participation in Pasionately
Pink by encouraging companies, schools, and groups to designate
a day (or two) in october to wear pink and learn about breast
cancer prevention.
Administrative/Office Support. Provide
administrative support to the Komen Tidewater Office; assist
with materials preparations, bulk mailings, data entry,
filling in at the office, etc.
