The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series, the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

Where does the money you fundraise go?

Up to 75 percent of the funds raised at the Race remain here in Tidewater to provide breast health research, diagnostics, screening, treatment, services and education for uninsured or underinsured women. The remaining 25 percent goes to fund national research to discover the cause of breast cancer and, ultimately, its cures.

Kids for the Cure

Kids age 3-11 can enter the Kids for the Cure drawing contest for a chance to be the design featured on the Kids for the Cure t-shirt for the Race.  Designs must be postmarked by June 30th.  The winner will be on the t-shirt and  the 11 runner-ups will be used for a special Kids for the Cure 2013 calendar!  Kids can enter as often as they would like.  Designs can be mailed together but each design must have an Entry Form.
